Hey Sisters!
First, I would like to apologize about not posting for the last few weeks. I took a much needed hiatus to gather my thoughts and really hone my creativity. So, thank you all for your patience and support during this break.
With that being said, I had the opportunity to attend a women’s brunch where I was invited by one of my closest friends.
The main topic was about pathways to finding your purpose. As the speaker, @robinmayonline, spoke many insightful points, she mentions recognizing how many roles we have as women that has purpose.
For instance, many of us are mothers, friends, wives, girlfriends, associates and entrepreneurs. Each of these are roles that play a part in our purpose. But sometimes we can become so fixated on one role that we lose focus on the others.
As a new mom, it’s so hard for me to not have tunnel vision focusing solely on my baby. I lose track and interest in hanging with friends, talking to family, and even working on my passions. I get so worked up in making sure I am being the best mother possible, that I neglect finding my purpose in my other roles.
This is not to say there is anything wrong with focusing on being a mother, but I know there is so much more assets of my life that needs attention and feeding also. It took me a while to say this let alone share it with others. But I find this to be one step closer to finding purpose. Acknowledging the fact that you have it.
Now that I am in a space where my son is a bit older, I’ve decided to work on me and find what it is that God has for me.
So, here are five ways that I have started building pathways to finding my purpose.
- Recognize what I am naturally good at and lean into it.
- Surround myself with guidance and mentors.
- Let go or alienate myself from distractions and toxicity.
- Become accountable.
- Understand that walking in my purpose is not an option.
While working on these pathways, remember that purpose allows us to build that meaningful connection between life and ourselves. We all have purpose, sometimes it just takes us a little bit of a push to find it. Until next time,
Peace, Love and Happiness.
