Renewed In My Twenties Series
See Verse: Romans 12: 2
Romans 12:2 NLT “Don’t copy the behavior of the world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Hey friend,
This season of your life can feel exhausting, especially when it comes to letting go of worldly mindsets and fully submitting to God’s will. We are often influenced by the people and environment around us, causing us to lose sight of God’s perfect plan. It’s a challenge to unlearn our old ways and embrace the ways of the Lord.
This scripture reminds us that we need to allow God to renew our minds. It’s crucial to invite Him to cleanse us of worldly influences and fill our thoughts with a desire to please Him. This transformation can take place in every area of our lives—whether at work, school, or at home. We can ask God to shape our minds in such a way that we long to fulfill His will and the purpose He has for us.
During this transformation, I’ve learned to eliminate gossip. Most of us won’t like this, but it’s crucial in renewing the mind. Gossip can cloud our thoughts and lead us away from God’s truth. It’s important to recognize that our words shape our hearts. In the process of renewing our minds, we must also guard our tongues, speaking only what builds up and reflects the love and grace of God.
A transformed mind leads to abundant success. As we align with God’s plan, we begin to access the skills and gifts He’s given us, reaping the rewards of His promises.
Reflection: How can God transform your mind? Are there areas of your life where worldly influences are pulling you away from His will?
Prayer: Father, renew my mind so that I no longer conform to the patterns of this world, but instead learn to live according to Your will. Grant me the strength to turn away from anything that is not of You. Help me to guard my tongue and my ears, protecting me from what enters in and what comes out. May my thoughts and actions reflect a life that pleases You.
Amen.
