Introducing Self Care: Remember to take care of you.

Hey Friends!

So, we are approaching the season of busyness! That may be non-stop working, planning different events, enjoying family and friends and so much more.

Through the mist of all this excitement, we can sometimes forget ourselves.

For me, being a first time mommy has taught me to remember just the little things. Remember to treat myself every now and then and know that it is okay to do so.

Being a stay-at-home mom has its wonderful perks, but there can be some challenges when it comes to taking care of me.

Has anyone experienced that? Where you are doing so much for everyone and everything that you forget to do for yourself.

Well friend, I’m here to remind you to take care of you!

Introducing Self Care Into Your Life:

Let’s talk about self care for a moment. When was the last time you treated yourself? When was the last time you poured into yourself? It’s probably been a minute, huh?

Well introduce some self care into your life, friend. Try pouring into yourself throughout the day, week, month, whatever time fits your schedule.

Recognize that you cannot give to others fully unless you are giving to yourself. This is something I had to figure out myself during my pregnancy and after. I was not truly focused on me. I didn’t always take the necessary time I needed for me.

I couldn’t fully do for my family because I was not doing enough for myself. Once I realized that I knew I needed some self care. Now, for me, it wasn’t introducing self care into my life, but reintroducing.

Before my pregnancy, I had taken my self care more seriously. I had a routine down packed, but down the line I lost that. And friend, that is okay. You may have already known selfcare, but lost that somewhere down the line. It’s okay.

Now it’s time to reintroduce it.

What Is Self Care?

For many of us, self care means a multiple of things.

It could be to build a better relationship with yourself or reconnect with yourself. It could be a way of listening to your body and acting on it’s needs, or a reminder to love and treat yourself and know that’s okay.

Self care is not just one meaning because we all think of it differently. The most important thing to know is that it is something we all need to incorporate in our lives.

How Can You Treat YourSelf

  1.  Journal
  2.  Move your body (walk, run, workout, yoga)
  3. Mani/pedi
  4.  Solo dates
  5.  Skincare
  6. Light a candle
  7. Meditate
  8. Express gratitude
  9. Drink water
  10. Get good-quality sleep

These are 10 ways you could treat yourself and take time to rejuvenate. Until next time,

Peace, Love and Happiness.

Great advice! You have to take care of yourself before you can effectively take care of others!
