A Letter To My Mom

Dear Mom,

Words cannot express my love and gratitude for you, but I will try my best to do so in this letter.

I am so proud to call you my mom and my best friend. You have shown me what a hard-working, loving, nurturing, and honest woman looks like. You have exceeded so many expectations in life. Though times have not always been easy for us, you have always shown what it means for family to stick together.

I am thankful for every sacrifice you have made that was seen or unseen. Raising two kids as a single mother is challenging, but you’ve hurdled over every roadblock sent your way. You have paved an example of what it means to keep pushing forward and never give up.

One of the biggest reasons why I admire you is the fact that you have never given up. You did not allow being a single mom to stop you from moving forward in life and creating the best life you could for our family. When you were up against adversity going back to school full time and working full time, you never gave up. You continued to build your career and now you are breaking chains. You have always been someone to make it happen and see things through.

Mom you deserve to live the best life. You deserve to have your dreams come to life and I manifest that one day I am able to give that to you. I pray that I will give you back the return on your investment. I pray that you are in a position where you can receive all that you desire and more. I pray that you continue to break chains. I encourage you to continue to put your best foot forward every day for yourself.

Part of who I am today is because of you. My success today came from the sacrifices you have made.

Aside from being my mom, you have been an amazing friend. It is such a blessing to get to know the incredible human being that you are. I mean, I never knew my mom was so funny! Above humor, you are kind, intelligent, resilient, honest, and caring. You have cared for so many others while caring for your own. You are always up for a relaxing or good time. Being around you is like being around “the girls.” I know there are not many daughters who can call their mom their best friend so I never want to take you for granted.

I remember first telling you we are expecting your first grandchild and the joy on your face helped me to know there will be so much love and joy around us. Six months later, your grandson is completely in love with you! (It will be you two causing the most trouble, lol).

I have always been able to count on you, Mom. Now it is about time you can count on me. You can count on me to put my best foot forward. You can count on me to continue to put God at the front of my life. You can count on me to break generational curses. You can count on me to be the best mom to your grandchild. You can simply count on me.

With all of that being said, I love you and I really, truly, and from the bottom of my heart thank you for EVERYTHING.

Love yours,

Diamond ladybug Jean.

This is by far the best Mother’s Day present I have ever received. As mothers, we dont do what we do to receive accolades but it does mean the world when your children recognize and show appreciation. I am proud of all that you have become and you are doing a job fantastic in the world of motherhood. Now for your brother to make me a grandma times two 🥰. Happy Mother’s Day Diamond Ladybug Jean ❤️❤️❤️. I love you!!!!
